Just one bike?

29er hardtail could be a "one" bike. Off road tyres and a set of slicks and you'd be done. It would be compromised at each extreme of riding but would work for everything.
What's the point though? Technically you could get away with one pair of shoes for anything you need to do, but we all accept that isn't practical.

Aye, don't know we're born most of us!

Great links, apart from the last one.

I'm sure I could manage with just one bike if I had to, but where is the fun in that?

if i can get below 15 i think id be happy
just which 15 is the question

I am almost down to just the 3. Just a few carcasses to sell and karma soon. Which from over a dozen means my addiction is almost under control ;)

A 1985 Raleigh Clubman for the 'Head down and arse in the air - solo on my own time'

A 1988 Giant Super Sierra for the family stuff with the Kids

And a Giant Terrago (modern and almost devoid of any soul :( ) for the muddy stuff

And I am lucky to have them
