Hi all

What are the best cantilever brake pads for my XT brakes? CRC have some shimano ones that look ok. They are to use :) not for looks, all suggestions welcome. Can u still get koop stops?

I picked up a couple of pairs of these of ebay :

They are the same as the eagle claw (I think) but they can be removed from the posts and swaped out so you dont have to readjust on replacement - I think they are called quick claws or similar ?

I use V-brake style pads that are removable. Fibrax etc do them in stud setup.
Then just go for the standard thin pads or the thicker triple compound style.

Once setup no need to adjust after a muddy week. just switch the pads. pads are cheap.

Just done that on my sisters old trek - pretty sure they were Ashima holders and standard pads. Holders are quite neat (all black), pads will be swapped for some salmons when they wear.

Even with the standard pads they are loads better than the standard (aged) shimano I swapped them out for :D

scott mathauser, best canti pads ever, stop in the wet like a regular pad in the dry.
Don't think they make them any more? Turned into cool stop salmons I think.
Aztecs were also pretty good.
