New/first project GT STS

Hi

Picked this up at the weekend for my first project.

Always fancied one and I got this at what I thought was a good price....£80? It needs a new shock and a good polish,maybe bushes/bearings changing.

Someone has tried to hand paint the shock green for some strange reason? I will be keeping my eyes peeled on the bay for a replacment or if anyone on here has one

Any advice much appreciated

You did amazingly well at that price.

Shocks and parts are a little hard to come by, because of the trunnion fitting, but search the for sale sections here, put up a wanted ad and keep your eye on the bay and you should find what you want.

It should make an interesting first project.

I've seen this on eBay and I'm sure I've read somewhere that this can be modified to fit the lts/sts?
Anyone with any info regarding this would be great.

Sweet deal! I thought the green spring looked rad! There are lost of shock options on ebay. I searched and searched and waited and waited until I won one at $60 (USD) They are out there. Thanks for the info. I really like the look of the Risse Racing Genesis. Does anyone have any expireiance of using this shock? I'm very tempted

I've heard great things about it. Have you checked out the LTS thread on mtbr?

I think I might have found a brand new super delux at a good price. So might try that first before I swallow the price tag of the genesis.

Do you know if the bushes for the lts and the sts are the same?

I would go for a Rock Shox as well.
