Got me some!

not bad looking for 1974

made 10 miles down the road from me too.

Is it a source of any description or just amp & speakers? How big are the units? Passive or active? Is the smaller cylinder a sub?

The 'cylinders' are amplifiers, the rainbow bit is a pre-amp. There is a matching tuner but it is rare.

They are on permanent display in the V&A and a design museum in New York.

Think of it in Retrobike terms, its a bit like finding Breezer no. 10

40 year old design...

 like everyone else I thought they were speakers!

So what speakers would you realistically run off this set up then, and how is it config'd?

BTW, you were wrong about my 80's CD player being Dutch ;) I had an Onkyo, running into a Mission Cyrus amp with the seperate PSU (have you seen the prices those fetch now!!) driving JR149 II's.

NOW my CD player and amp are both (retro) Dutch, but I still have 149's, this time with the modern crossovers you can get
