1995-ish Bob Jackson

Retro newbie here, & my Bob Jackson which has suffered a bit in the garage. I though it was time I sorted a restoration & wouldn't mind a bit of advice.

Hopefully the images have uploaded. The spec is:
Bob Jackson 653 custom, close clearance with Cinelli cast lugs & semi-concealed brake cable
Cinelli Criterium bars, Dura-Ace aero stem
Campag C Record brake levers, seatpost, headset, friction downtube levers, 53/42 chainset, bottom bracket, braze-on front mech, rear mech
Dura-ace 13-18 block
Dia Compe aero brakes (also have Campag Delta to fit)
Campag Record 36 hole (I think) large flange hubs
Mavic semi-aero rims
Brooks Colt saddle (Also have white Selle San Marco Rolls)
Avocet speedo
At the moment have some old "Aerolite" pedals, though will fit some Crank Bros eggbeaters when I get it going (for compatibility with my MTB)

Does this have potential? The frame definitely needs refinishing, so no probs there, but not sure about colours (something vintage?) & really not sure what to to about the dull alloy & the chrome fasteners. I don't want to ruin logos etc. Should I look to swap any parts?

I'd say that has huge potential! Some really good components on the frame, and it's 653 tubing so it's got quality written all over it.

I'd strip it, polish the frame to see what it comes up like and how many flaws it has, touch up if necessary and re-build / service.

If you've got Delta's then worth a go though notoriously awkward to set-up though they do look the business. Autosol the components to a decent shine and I think you'll see an immediate improvement. White Rolls saddle would finish it off.

Then once you've ridden it, you can sell the MTB as you'll never look back

By the looks of it this frame is definitely worth a restoration. Bob Jackson still does this, so this might be worth looking into. Their paint is still top notch.

The way the rear brake cable is guided (out the right side as supposed to out the right side) does limit your options for brakes. A nice option would be to go 'aero' and mount brakes the other way around.

Ok that's encouraging I think I'll start stripping it down & get a quote for paint to start. It HAD chrome chainstays & dropouts, but I think that it was not that durable, so will go for paint this time.

I've had a look around & think I'll go for silver 'sparkle' metallic paint, with white saddle & tape. It was available when new so is appropriate vintage, but a modern look. I've picked up a pair of Campagnolo Eurus wheels, 20 hole, radial front & 1x rear - probably a bit fragile, but should look good with the silver rims Just got to find a 6/7!speed cassette to fit
