C drive disc space getting full

You'll not compress with that little space left. Given how little is left you still have all your files on there. Check they have been deleted and backed up.

Which OS and how old or what is the computer?

The main OS will take less than that, programme not too much. Games may take up some.

Might be time if you're struggling for space constantly to get a 1TB or so drive and image across or have a nice clean start again.

I happily use a 40GB drive and to VHS to DVD conversion including cutting and menus etc. A few old Games and use Win8.

Lots of bike porn ?

Maybe, maybe not. But that's not the big problem. Go after what can easily be removed.
They are system files, don't mess with them just yet.

Have you run the basic CCleaner?

Dump the songs she doesn't listen too. I assume you can just redownload them if ever they are needed.
 
Open CCleaner
Click the "Tools" icon on the left
Click "system restore"

You'll see a whole lot of restore points. Select all except for the oldest and then hit the "remove" button.

That'll give you a few more GB of wiggle room for now whilst still allowing you to roll back your system if it ever goes wonky.

Also, what system and service pack are you using? (right-click "my computer", select properties)
I have another trick, but it's a lot of explaining if I need to write down the full procedures for Vista SP1, Vista SP2 and Win7 SP1
 
Once you get to that point and she'll not let the ,music go, you're still not going to get the 10-20GB that it'll want to be happy.
New drive time really, it'll only get back like that again.

System clean, built in, up depending on OS will remove old service packs, temp files... upgrade files it no longer needs. But it's minimal in reality.
 
If she has lots in itunes, has she got itunes match? I pay about £23 a year for this. They offer a free version I believe, but only provide the songs available in the itunes store. If you pay the subscription then itunes uploads to the apple server any songs unavailable in the itunes store. Once the upload is done you can delete everything from your computer and just leave it in icloud to download when you wish to listen to it.
