Re: BoTM July '13 - Muddy Fox vs Orange vs Saracen - Vote No

Brocks no one could have wanted to see this Orange finished as much as me, other than perhaps Adrian.

Sadly I didn't take it any other way, purely based on your voiced opinions since seeing your posts since I joined this site.

It was almost like a total U turn in your opinion/values and views, leaving me to think little else if im honest.

I certainly Only remarked on my view/ reason and thinking behind my OWN single Vote.

Which im sure is what the threads are for. I wasn't looking for comment and appreciate your points ref my bikes, and all critics are taking on board, I certainly don't get it right all the time, any more than Adrian. And I am learning all the time.

I had hoped that those that know me would see this, it isn't personal just a valid opinion based on facts.

If I didn't like the bike, or have respect for the assembler and the effort, I would not have been one of the contributing Voters, getting it to second place in the previous competition.

I will assume from your lack of comment on the Question you didn't answer on the decals, that we agree they are nothing like the Originals that were removed from the frame before the refinish.

Lets move on. we have both vented our opinions rightly or wrongly.

To answer your question I agree that the decals are not quite right mate, as others are not. It's things like that that put me off full resto's tbh, they're never 'exactly' perfect and I include my own resto's in that.

The thing that gets me about the Formula though is the history of the bike and the history of it's time on here. It had to be restored as leaving it as it was was not an option. I looked forward to seeing updates on the thread.

If the fillet brazed 89 Kili was original it'd probably have swayed my vote. If the 89 Trekker was one of the Saracen blues or purples that probably would have done. Fine margins indeed!!

Hmmm....reflectors. :(

This is indeed a tough month.

If reflectors are your thing, then there's only one bike for you, so not tough, at all.

That's true. I like to concentrate on pedals. I have my favorites, you know.

Actually, I'm trying to avoid the whole decals fallout...

The history mans MF

It, more than any other, embodies the spirit in which this months contest was conceived

Now I know why I stopped looking at b.o.t.m.
Nothing changes.
