Seatpost Quandary

I have been looking for replacement hardware for syncros seatposts. Namely, the first version of the lower cradle often has broken tangs. The replacement parts for a USE SX looks like it could work real well and I need the upper pieces for an IRD post. Problem is I don't know if the diameter of the lower cradle will be be a good match. Some people say they use thomson, but the cradle round section is smaller and I don't like the poor fit. Does anyone know if the USE will work?

DOes anyone had a USE post and can measure the diameter (width) of the lower cradle so that I may compare to syncros?

It's the same size as the diameter as the seatpost; 25.4mm I think which is the same size as a Syncros one more or less

That is pretty small and smaller than syncros as far as I can tell. which is unfortunate. I think I measured the syncros at 28.6mm but I will check again.
