I should have taken a better picture

My choice is:

1- Formula.
2- 1989 Kili Comp.
3- 1989 Trekker.

Some very cool bikes this month

MMMmmmm, tough month I reckon.

FWIW......

No I cant do it,

Given what the formula is, for me it should be my No.1.
But the decals are wrong and far too late for it, and not using Neon Orange for the refinish is a cardinal sin when we are talking how rare it is and it isn't just any Orange its a formula, the stem sadly is too long for it too, imho.

LOL......

The decals are not far too late, they're period correct if not a little streched :?

Rubbish.......... the later ones were stretched, hence my point, and given all your previous criticism of Orange decals on multiple previous threads im surprised at that comment from you to be honest.

Blimey! It's just a bit of fun guys, not life or death! ;)

Steady on chaps it's just a bike.

Carl's raised his views on the bike openly on a few threads now, I'm cool with that and I respect his opinion.

I agree that the stickers are a bit of a downer and if they weren't lacquered on I'd have changed them by now for sure.

The paint I tend to disagree on, only because I saw the finish on the original frame and what Kevin has done with this is closer to the original than a bog standard Bob Jackson or Argos clockwork knock off, he did build it originaly after all.

Will I change it one day? Probably. But this bike has something special about it even with these issues, and now it's no longer rusting away there is plenty of time to do this and plenty of other projects to work on first

Killi flyer comp for me.

Re: BoTM July '13 - Muddy Fox vs Orange vs Saracen - Vote No

UU know it makes sense ;)

The red 80's Saracen would have been a strong contender for my vote....but a kitchen photograph for BOTM??

Any chance of a late submission?

Sorry Adrian, just far too passionate about it, especially given there are so few left.
Im glad you saved it as I said, you know im a massive fan of British builders and Orange for reaching to my mind the level it did as an Iconic British brand bitd, and perhaps this is why the detail was perhaps more important to me.

Perhaps if and when you have finished with it you could bear me in mind.

And to be fair, Gravy Monster too, with the Saracen, id happily have that in my stable too.

Steve

FWIW i was going to vote for your lovely machine but then I noticed someone's done a cut and shut job on your chainstays and they just look all wrong

And I'm not convinced its actually a working bike as I just don't believe you can get that bottle out whilst pedalling

Seriously It'd make a falsehood out of my profession if it didn't get my architectural vote

As cool as William Perry in a penguin sanctuary :xmas-cool:
