Any quality snips will do the inners and gear cable outers I got some of those pbk ones when they were on special, very good and also did a nice job on the goodridge outers still worth finishing with wet n dry though ;-)

+2.81354 for teh Dremel. Just be careful you don't melt the plastic - slow speed and don't go all the way through in one go.

so far I have resisted buying a pair of cable cutters - don't need more tools for something that I do infrequently plus a dremel cut off disc, something I already own, does a prefectly fine job of it.
