I'm thinking of throwing a weird fork on the front...either a PDS Inversion or Lawill leader in mind for now.
Unless I can find another crown for my Z3...

Whichever fork you choose, make sure it's roughly the same length. Not only would a longer fork mess up the handling, it'll put different strain on the welds etc.
Both the PDS and the Lawill look ok length-wise, even though I'm not sure if either of those will look good on the bike.

True that, I keep forgetting that these things don't have welds.
Still, the stress on glue and bonds will be different.

I'm aware to keep the travel low on this bike as to not rip the headtube off. So maybe a Marzocchi XC might suit the build better?

This is my issue with the Z2...
I have a Lawill Leader 2 and a Marzocchi XC500 on it's way but would like to save this one.

That's just superficial damage, it'll buff right out.
Find any other Z2 and use the crown from that. Shouldn't be that hard to find a cheap one that has oil leaks, worn stanchions etc.

I live in a town of 7,500 mostly native up North in Canada. Next town is over 500km away on a dirt road and even further to the next. The other way is 450km till the next really small costal communities. Not much spare bike parts around but I'll keep my eyes open, might have a source here on RB...
