So, here’s the thing.

The seat post issue (see link to previous posts) has not got any better, in fact it’s a whole lot worse. Before you look at these pictures and laugh (or cry) I have tried pretty much everything on the known list within the ‘how to remove seized seats posts manual’.
On Wednesday I turned the bike upside down and stood on the saddle, twisting the frame in an attempt to loosen it. It looked like the post was finally turning as the saddle twisted about 30 degree in each direction.
That was when my saddle snapped off.
Unfortunately, when I checked the line I had drawn down the tube and on to the frame, there had been no movement in the tube itself, it was the top of the saddle post coming loose.
In a fit of rage I hacksawed the bastard off.
Now you can see the true horror. Since committing this stupid angry act, I have purchased a hacksaw with an extended reach, which I’m using to slowly cut through the tube from the inside of the frame, but its not really working.
Is this a total write-off?
If so, I am desperately in need of a 1995 or older bike/frame to ride this year’s Brighton Big Dog.
