Retro Newbie
Hi guys,
Long time reader first time poster! Love the site, but have haven't had a retro bike to post about.

I picked up this beauty today, just looking for advice on what upgrades would be appropriate. Even though the forks look great with the matching purple, but the metal on metal crunch under breaks kinda puts one off.

Can anyone put a date on the bike?

Cheers in advance!

NICE ! I am loving the Backwoods in purple. Might have to put one on my wishlist !
I have the 96 blue/yellow flame one. Building up soon.

Cheers Madjez. Is there anything that I can look for to indicate the year? It also has the lug on the frame for cantilever breaks.
Cheers

Happy to help. Catalogue (in the gallery sections) says 1994 model.
The obvious things are the 'All GT Terra' decal is 95 or earlier, the gusset welded under the top tube is 96 or earlier.
This would have originally come with cantis. I put V.brakes on my 94 Zaskar without too much bother.
Looks like you've got some nice parts on there and in beautiful condition.

Fantastic range of catalogs, very dangerous if you ask me! I see now how you ended up with so many GT's!

I should really give it a good wash, that's as I got it. Should come up even better.
Cheers
