But the romance!

We obviously view motor racing circuits differently, out of all the circuits I drove when I used to race cars, Silverstone club was about the most boring of the lot. Plus, if it's wet and windy, then that back straight at three o'Clock in the morning is going to be miserable with a capital M.

I'll talk to the boy tomorrow and see what he thinks.

First GP I saw was there in 1977. Never driven it.

Just mailed you some spy pics..... ;)

Driven GP circuit in historics and couldn't agree with Neil more. Long open barren and boring about sums it up!!

Donnington would be a good one

Donnington has hills

Donnington the wrong way round would also be good.

Or the old GP circuit at Brands.

I used to go to the historic meets at Silverstone back in the early 70's, with the Morgans and the pre 34 F1 cars and all the 1960's sports cars, fantastic.... but on a bike, at 3.00am on a wet Sunday morning in September.

What about the Magical History Tour?

Highest point in Cotswolds, Roman fort, Neolithic mound, Roman villa, Medieval site of pilgrimage, Tudor castle.

I have raced at Silverstone on a F2 sidecar, it would be flat and boring on a mtb, Brands hatch GP is more like it, I love that track

Oulton Park, Olivers Mount, Cadwell... anywhere but Silverstone!

Not exactly inspiring from a landscape point of view..
