Upgrading a P7

After a few bone crunching but still very enjoyable recent rides on my rigid P7 ( :D ....) I've decided to upgrade the old girl a bit before my bones creak any more!

Pace sus forks naturally but would a short stem & riser bar improve the handling or are the older frames not really suited to this?

Currently has 135mm SK8 quill stem (approx 10* rise) and a hot rod flat bar 580mm.

Options: short ahead stem 120mm, 660mm width, slight riser bar.

Any thoughts? (19" 1996 P7 with 22.5/23" TT. I'm 6')

Cheers, Matty :D

No problem with risers in my opinion. I find they can be supremely comfortable and assist steering/handling. No bar ends for climbing though ;)

Mine was a 19" 1997, I used a 100mm stem with X-lite XC Risers (uncut) and found it fairly forgiving even with rigid forks. I also think the risers looked great on it, although I wouldn't have gone for deep DH risers.
