I object to the inference that I have no free will. When choosing the Ibis I gave no thought to or looked at anything other than the bikes.

59 voted for the Ibis, 162 voted for something else...

...by putting the top three (four this month) through to a 'deciding' vote the 162 who didn't vote for the Ibis could then have the opportunity to either vote for it or one of the others, thus adding an extra element of competition into the mix.

It might even encourage more people to vote; (un)Reality TV and Talent(less) shows, with their voting systems, being as (unfathomably) popular as they are?
 
I don't get your issue with the Ibis winning Stevo?

Its a beautiful example of an awesome bike that gained nearly twice as many votes as the 2nd place bike?
 
Can the second round format ...top 3...be done on a non-restricted month? The more entries the better.

Clearly people vote for varying reasons, for varying bikes. As well as encouraging people, it may discourage some from voting in a 2nd vote - almost as if their ideal choice had no bearing. Some months I don't vote - if there's not a bike I would actually chose to take home and ride. So for me, at least - possibly others - there's every chance a 2nd vote may get ignored, too.

I think there's a tendency to overthink it all - it's all supposed to be fun, there are some rules, so long as they're pretty much followed, and the bikes are all eligible, why not just let the voting decide.
 
Have a thought for poor John when considering increasingly convoluted voting methodologies! Sometimes I go back over the prior winning bikes and it is hard to argue with them even though from month to month there are usually more than a couple strong contenders.
 
I believe your complaint as to the fact that the votes were so spread out is because the number of bikes in the poll is rather massive, rather than the ibis not getting enough. I believe the correlation would be statistically similar had the sample size been smaller and the ibis would probably have won the same percentage of all the votes which in this case is a unusually big percentage of the totality of all the votes.

Adding another layer of voting is ridiculous for a poll that is supposed to be fun and would not have altered the outcome.
