spinergy wheel clicking problem found more help needed

fairly basic check that I'd make (making the assumption you're running cantis or other rim brakes here): It's not something as simple as the brake pads catching on the join in the rim is it?

unhook the rear brake temporarily to check :)

well after a lot of messing and applying pressure to the rear rim with a mate I heard it do the clicking noise so ive now found the problem (see pic) was hard to see until pressure was applied :roll:

is there any way I can fix this or is my rim dead its not near the spoke but im sure will just get worse :cry:

im a bit gutted as Im now a wheel down. don't think the guy who I had them off would of seen the split but would of for sure heard the clicking.i know I might of been daft to buy without road testing but my build was in bits at the time :facepalm:

I would talk to a marine composite specialist. Somebody who repairs racing sailing dinghies will have the right experience to make a judgment.
 
Is there foam inside the rim? If yes you could mask off the alloy rim and the carbon fairing and dribble some epoxy resin into the gap , the ideal epoxy will be a thin yet toughened , rubberized one , if there is no foam in there the job is harder as the ideal thin resin will just fall through. In that case i would push in a thicker epoxy glue with a finger , I cannot see any room for "surface preparation"

sounds good if there is no foam I will load it up then clamp then turn upside down that way the resin should run back down towards the joint :)
