C record rear hub - cone replacement

Hi,

This is probably the must stupid question yet but can someone please advise how to remove the cones from a c-record rear hub.

I have attempted to use two cone spammers to turn the nuts on the freewheel side in opposite directions with no joy. I don't want to force it and break something so thought I'd ask...

Outermost nut goes anticlockwise as you know....put the spanners as close as you can and squeeze them together if possible rather than trying to lever seperately, if that makes sense?

It's the small flange hubs actually - does that make a difference?

Nope.....internals are the same.

The other option is to put the spanners on the outermost locknuts each side and undo something........at least the axle will come out

There doesn't appear to be anything I can get spanner onto on the non drive side of the hub...

Will have a go in the morning

I might have the wrong set of hubs in my mind.........I have a set of Small Flange Campag record wheels last used in anger for the Junior 25 mile TT back in the late 70's in the garage. I'll check

You need to remove the dust cover on the non-drive side. Campag made a special extractor to pull it off. You can lever it off with a screwdriver but be warned it is easily marked. I believe you can use a battery terminal puller to remove it as well.
