Retro Newbie
Revamping my classic Orange P7 with High rise stem and Cruiser bars. What do people think of the look? I'm a bit unsure myself!

Looks ok to me but the stem doesn't look quite right

looks good, but then I ride this, so I would like it. to be honest you should build it for its intended purpose rather than what it looks like. moon bars are fine for short commutes but when riding so upright you may feel like you are going too slow.

Chute55uk - that thing is awesome!!!!!! You got any more info on it, build thread anywhere? (I assume it might be on a different website)

hi rob glad you like it, with the risk of hijacking the post, its a german made frame by a company calley ruff-cycles http://www.ruff-cycles.com/. the model is a smyniz. the forks I made myself by milling the 2 crowns and welding the steel legs and dropouts. the wheels are from a felt beach cruiser with basman tyres. the bars are harley davidson bobbers, the grips are electra, headlight and tail light are from a custom bike accessory company called highway hawk via ebay. the crank and stem are from a haro bmx. it now has a chrome crank.
I got the frame at xmas as a present from my wife, they come blasted ready for paint, I originally painted it matt black but then went vw candy white and now Im getting it done in an urban digital camo (maybe). also i am in the process of making some pedals out of knuckledusters which should be ready in a week or so.
if you do the facebook thing you want to look for the following:
https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/301730469924914/ for the more common Basmans.
https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/322861794482888/ group for ruff owners
https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/471837569536114/ my own bike group

Well glad people think it looks ok. I got the cables sorted out (£4 for a cheap Bell set from asda, they are a bit rough feeling but will do) and cycled round Hampden stadium. Its pretty nice, now sitting in an upright posture so you kind of notice more things about you rather than staring at the front wheel. I have done my knee in so can't cycle far anyway so will keep it in the configuration for this year anyhow.

I like it - the forks make it look kinda classic and the panniers help too.

I really think it needs a Brooks saddle on it though, and some nicer tyres to match the look - maybe some Halo Twin Rail in skinwall?
