rare lotus mountain bike made from carbon fibre

Re: lotus mountain bike

I wouldn't get too hung up on the 'rarity' of an item. Rarity has a flip-side called unpopularity. The reason not many were made might not be down to exclusivity rather people's reticence to buy it in the first place ...also just how many £3000 bikes do you think a short lived 1990s brand would ever sell.

It's nice but, as above, put on eBay at 99p and let the market find its level. If you put a high BIN you'll never sell.

I have a Dave Lloyd CATS WISKAS made in 1992. As far as I can see it is one of FIVE that I know of.

There is currently one on ebay, complete and original, it has several days to go and is currently up to £165.

Rare means nothing, it just means they did not sell at the time, or have all broken since.

In the 1990's there were a number of carbon bikes from HOTTA, Hartmann, Formula 1, none of them sold, as people did not trust the technology.

You have a nice frame, what you don't have is a lottery win.

Stop preaching to us about speaking to experts, we ARE experts and collectively know more about bikes and components from the 1980's and 90's than any one person out there.

Good luck with your sale.

Re: lotus mountain bike

As much as someone is prepared to pay.

They guys in Germany love pristine originality, you may get lucky there.

Re: lotus mountain bike

Nice bike,

Not sure you are asking the right people seeing as we would probably be your target market to buy the thing and several members have tried to advise you but you have ignored their advice..

Don't be blinded by something being "rare" if yours is perfect then it won't be the only one! only a true indication of what it's worth will you find through auction just like anything else.

Very cool bike. I think everybody drooled over these BITD.

You don't need to put any sales info in the description emphasising how rare it is, just describe it as it is with good clear pictures from a proper digital camera and anyone looking will know the rarity of it.

Get it on ebay, 99p start no reserve and offer shipping to Germany - watch the bids roll in.

Whilst it is obviously a very cool bike, I don't remember them being particularly light and I don't think they had much of a race pedigree like Formula One did.

If I wasn't married I'd already be on my way to get it, but with a £1200 BIN I think many prospective buyers will be scared off.
