anyone got any sunglasses recommendations?

i need some new sunglasses, have used Oakley's for years but over the last couple of years they've changed them almost to the older style. i never really liked the specific sports glasses, the wrap around style

so in other words, nothing like this:-

so does anyone have any recommendations? not particularly a brand snob as such, have bought oakleys in the past because i found they fit well and their customer service when i have had problems (bike crash broken frames) has been good.

any thoughts?

I have to wear prescription ones and got some really nice Bolle ones last year. Similar style to older Oakley (which I always wore but can't afford them with my lenses)

I always buy Polarized lenses, as they cut glare immensely...

yeah same here, this may sound stupid but i'm more concerned at the moment by the frame style and the fit, some of the bolle glasses do actually look like the oakley's of old (that i like) so that's promising. will have to find a local dealer to try some maybe.

Randolph Aviators. Classic style, designed to be worn with helmets so of for cycling, and lenses designed to protect the pilots eyes from shrapnel. Downside is they're discontinued since the US Navy switched to Ray Bans in the 90s, so any NOS ones cost serious wedge.

If that's bit steep then David's motorcycle glasses tick all the same boxes for proper certified for impact protection, come with multiple lenses, and can be had for under £30. I tend to use older Oakley c wires and have had them redone with polarised lenses from Ciliary Blue on line. Fantastic job and enabled me to keep my faves but have them prescriptionised.

Have you looked at the Oakley split jacket? I have a pair and you can change the lens dependent on light conditions very easily (they come with 2 lenses and Oakley also do a transition lens that changes from clear to dark) . They are a bit like the old eyejackets with dual lens rather than wraparound like the M Frame and Radar and have a thinner arm to fit better with helmets. I find them really comfy and fit very well with my helmet.

I've got M-Frames that I use on the road bike, in various colours & lenses
But I'm now using Oakley Flak Jackets on the MTBs
With transition lenses, clear to dark, and they are really good.
Lenses are two sizes, standard & the larger XLJ
I'll probably get some more as I like em that much
