1989 Savage Terminator - SOLD

peguinpower

Old School Hero
I need to thin my herd. This bike is only one of two I know to exist. If there are others, I don't know about it.

Bike comes with no serial number, duhno if they came with one. Never seen another up close. All drops look like they were hand cut. No rust, fresh powder coat. Frame is mint.

Specs as follows:

Original Savage fork
Mavic Paris Dakar hubs with M6 Oxygen rims
Cook 176mm crank with Avitar (?) chainrings
M730 pedals
M737 thumbies (?)
Dia Compe Levers
Ritchey Logic Brakes
Tricor seat post, with honeycomb structure core.

The Kooka levers are no longer on the bike. They did not work well on this set-up.

I have the original 140ish stem (Curtlo or ATAC, duhno, no decals) and Profile bar that came with the bike as it was raced on the Savage race team. On it now is a 50mm Ringle stem that I used to fit it to me. You can have either one.

Serious interest, I'll take better pics, check the specs for an accurate list and check geometry. I have too many bikes and I don't remember everything to heart.

Re: 1989 Savage Terminator +

 .....seriously nice that.

I have that copy of MBA in the glove box of my car too :D..thats about as close as i'll get to owning that bike.

Re: 1989 Savage Terminator +

Remember really enjoying the build thread for this, hope it finds a happy home and gets thrashed regularly!

Re: 1989 Savage Terminator - SALE PENDING

Sale is pending.

I put the bike back in original specs and she came out stunningly beautiful. Just for kicks, here is her final iteration before she is handed over to her new owner.

Bing,

It's in good hands now. Thanks once again.

I see you don't have a feedback page, but I want RBers to know that you're a good guy to deal with, so I'll comment here.

To all,

I drove up to L.A. to buy this bike, and not only did Bing show me his awesome workshop, he took me out to lunch at Pepy's Diner in Venice Beach, and over to Deus Ex Machina to look at some cool retro motorcycles. He also gave me many extra parts he thought I might want sooner or later if this particular build didn't work out. Bike is super-clean, tuned, and ready to ride! We spent about 2 hours talking about bikes while I was there, and I hope to go riding with him in the near future. Bing is a great guy, and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality, honesty, and good company.

Thanks again Bing!

Frank

I actually missed all the excitement in that neighborhood by almost exactly 24 hours:

Then again just today, in the same neighborhood, more mayhem:

Eerie coincidence, especially considering the name of this bike.

Given the choice, I'd take the freezing cold over bullets any day.

It's a sad situation when that stuff occurs randomly for seemingly no reason other than somebody just wigged-out and lost their mind. What L.A. needs is more police, although I'm sure there's also plenty of work available for Fire Sprinkler Engineers.
