Cutting Threaded P2 Forks

I have a set of threaded P2's that I want to use with a BBB ahead extender to fit my work bike frame.

Unfortunately the length of the head tube is such that the extender and steerer joins at the headset bearings / bushes.

Should I simply trim the forks to suit? The steerer length is 143mm and the A-C is around 415mm.

Many thanks

Doesn't make any difference where the two join...

...I've just fitted one that needed just one 5mm spacer to lengthen the steerer enough for me to use the stem I wanted!

On my Kili I had to shorten the extender because the headtube is quite short and I only needed about a 30mm extension on the steerer.

They're one of the handiest gizmos I've come across; fitted my first in '06 (long before I even realised there was a retro scene out there) so I could use a bargain, short steered P2 on my Lavadome.
