Trying to fix faff filled stuff...

For washing machines I try to buy cosmetic seconds: ones with dents on the casing etc. Last one was an Indesit, cost £140 and did 7 years (including 2 when the house was let as I worked overseas).
Houses with kitchen refits are a good source of decent secondhand stuff.

I used to fix car radio cassettes/ cds etc and vhs recorders. oh happy days!

I'm like a kid I can take things apart, but whether I can put them back together, well that is an entirely different matter

A guy I worked with used to sell white goods. He gave me a great bit of advice that has always worked. Yes kiss of death Mr Flyer! Anyway he told me " best brand you can afford, simplest model" my base model zanussi lasted over 15 years with no issues until my son went near it and overloaded it so would still have been going bar the bearings.

Best make, simplest model!
