The fluted style crank was popular and it did lead to the solid arm 7410 which were lovely cranks IMO , then bigger/hollow/lighter/stiffer took over

incidentally ISO axles work great on JIS cranks as long as there is a gap for the crank bolt to pull down

ha ha , I see that now . I actually messaged a bloke with some Mavic starfish cranks on the bay a while back who made the same ring mistake (after cleaning I assume) those rings look like DA 7400/7402 with that "recess line" around them , I think the 7100s had a small blue sticker on them ?

edited to say the 7410s scored 6 steel "lifting" pins
 
Went for 29 quid..........should have kept up with the bidding as my opener was a tenner :)
