Signatures

This is one that has been an issue for ages and is taking up moderation time.

We're seeing some users with 20 line signatures which is messing up the forum view for others even if they're on a big monitor. On a laptop or mobile it's even worse.

I for one would like to welcome our new signature overloards.

24 bikes in my sig, and it's only 3 lines worth on my monitor, 4 or 5 on my phone, so it CAN be done to comply with the rules.

example for the IMG inept -

replace { } with [ ] and this:

{size=90}{url=http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=160474&highlight=]95 Brodie Sovereign{/url}{/size}

gives you:

95 Brodie Sovereign

There is only a 'large gap' if the post is short and the height of the users avatar/ ranks / title etc is taller than that of the post + sig.
 
The minimum length a post can be depends on how big your avatar is but most of the time how many badges you have. LGF has loads because he is so special. If you have a few then your post and sig may be shorter than the bit on the left with your pic and badges on so under the sig will be a gap.

Just in case that wasnt clear - it took me a couple of mins to work out, hover your cursor over the URL button in the full screen editor and look at the second option. Basically the address "http://web.com" goes inside the first URL tag with an = sign in front e.g. {url=http://web.com}link text{/url}.
