Lovely to see all the unachievable Marin porn but any comment on this wreck? Project? Avoid?

Very few people are going to buy all three and be able to collect. If it's close enough then bid for it. At £80 you can strip the Giant and Specialized and sell on as parts, keep the Marin and you'll still probably end up with cash to spend on the refurb.

Maybe I think if you get the lot for the current price and sell off the others than you could get the Marin for free! Think it looks like a 1989 Palisades if it needs bits they would be inexpensive but maybe hard to source...If they are near you then I would say what have you got to loose for £80??

Wouldn't have been stamped Ultimate though? Just the Range stamping..
I don't think Ultimate series was out till a year later or so. Plus catalogue just says normal Prestige.
Not that it matters of course.

80 miles and 80 quid anybody fancy the other two for £30 each?

Not worried about keeping it original so could do a Ted Rogers and end up with a runner.......

80 miles round or each way?

Round here on gumtree you'd get £70 or more on the spesh and £50 or more on the giant, or parts as suggested. Free bike, petrol covered. 80 miles round trip no question, 160 is a bit more of a mission.

seller deals with bikes so he probably knows the value of the 3 put together, condition of components ? if badly worn then not worth much ?, I know from bitter experience that some of these projects are not worth much at all...........

I know for 1992 and I think 1991 the pine and eldridge shared the same frame and I think some cross over between lower models, not sure where palisades sits but probably worth checking.

True word spoken the seller buys and restores bikes for cheap rides for students...so perhaps they require more than just a tinker...worth checking...I think that the Palisades was the base level model and had a different frame set to the Eldridge/Pine...I know in later years the Muirwoods/Palisades/Bear Valley shared the same frame...

History Man I think you are correct, the tubes were probably just stamped Tange Prestige. It's been a while....

My seat tube is externally butted and flaired at the bb, isn't that a Ultimate design detail?

In any case i've been on the hunt for a old Zolatone for quite sometime, not many turn up in good condition around here.
