If non-rideable means buildable - my total (and some are for my wife and daughter) is about 8 (ish).
What about bikes in the household -
Mine rideable - 1 x MTB, 4 x retro, 1 x new
Mine pending build - 5
Wife - 1 x MTB
Wife pending build - 1 retro
Daughter (6yrs) - 1 x BMX, 1 x trike, 1 x pink girls bike
Daughter pending build - 3 x retro
I might be getting to the 'too many' point soon!

Yep, that's my style too, even got a couple stashed under the bed. I agree there should be a poll added for unusable bikes too.
- In use (fully built with cables, wheels, saddle and other important bits) 2x road, 1x commuter, 1x tourer
- Not in use (frames and boxes of bits) 4x road, 2x mtb

Agreed. I've never quite grasped the "garage queen" mentality and the idea of only taking a nice bike for a spin in good weather in limited doses. My "best" road bike is out in all weathers, all year round....not quite so keen on getting a wet bum in weather like today's though.

I have 4, my retro/modern tourer for commuting, my modern mountain bike, my retro mountain bike and my retro racer-only for nice days though
