What LH crank arm? Hollowtech II question.

I've bought a RH M960 crank arm on its own.
Obviously i need a LH arm to go with it.
Of course a 960 one will fit as will, i'm told, an XT item of similar vintage but will anything further down the range fit? Or for that matter Shimano road items of similar age?
I don't want to break the bank as the RH side was a great price

not to mention the fact that i'm tight

Likely you'd end up with a colour mismatch but (looking at what pics I can find of that particular crankset) it appears to be a Hollowtech II unit?

If that's the case then any HT II crank arm *should* fit (the exploded diagram on Shimano's site *looks* practically identical to my Deore one).

I shall look into it.
I'll end up polishing them so initial colour won't be too much of an issue

I've looked into it and it appears any mtb HT2 arm will fit.
HT2 roadie stuff looks to be very similar also.
Anybody know exactly what will and won't fit?

I always thought roadie axles had smaller ones?
May be for other brands though. I think an alfine I worked on had a smaller axle, don't quote me on it though.

Took a chance, M582 Deore LX fit

Quite a nice match and less than 25% of the cost of M960
