Frame weights .... Good weight for a steel MTB frame?

Gary fisher MT.Tam 1991, Tange Prestige custom quad Butted, around 2550g (2720g with BB)
Gary Fisher procaliber 1993" Tange superlite Ultimate, around 2240 with BB.
Pinarello Mountain Bike 1989, Columbus Offroad nivacrome tubes, 2200-2300g.
Ritchey P22, tange ritchey logic tubes, less than 2kg (1850-1900?), dont remember exactly. Fork Ritchey Logic, less than 750g
Cinelli the machine 1990 Columbus Max OR, 2200G+ 1000g fork
Bianchi 1991 Nht Max OR 1800g, fork 800g

to put your mind at rest mate I had exactly that frame and rigid for over 2 years and I'm a 6'6", 18 stone clumsy tw@t. The frame's an agro sponge, soaking up any harm you want to give it and a lovely twangy ride.

The most important thing to me is how stiff my BB shell is and lateral stiffness.

My Marin bear valley with tange double butted and afterburner stays weighs in at 5.1lbs, gives a nice nice, not too flexy at all

My frame is a Van Tuyl custom geometry (close tot 17inch) and puts 1780 trams on the scale. Frame tubing is Columbus Foco.

I reckon anything under 6/7 pounds odd is fair enough. My lightest steel mountain bike frame is somewhere under 4 and a half in a 19". That is fine for me, and it flexes in a pleasing way.
