Grisley Mega 10 Finally Ridable. Quite Nice Actually!

Re: £20 for Grisley Mega 10! Picked Up

The seller doesn't mention size but I'd guess that it's for 1&1/8" forks. I think that there's a good chance that your forks are also 1&1/8".

Just pop the stem off your bike and stick a tape measure across your steerer tube, it should be obvious if it's 1" or 1&1/8" (25.4mm or 28.6mm if you're all modern) outside diameter.

Twenty quid.... TWENTY QUID!

How do you find these bargains?

I know, it's Jedi mind tricks isn't it.

Watch the Cheng Shin tyres; some of the early ones were made of a hard compound. They'll be fine in the dry, but might be a bit sketchy in the wet.

I look forwards to seeing it in the near future.

Tyres off in morning conti vertical 2.3 going on. Plus raising bars somehow. See above

Evening Neil. Ashton looks good!

Ashton it is then, after Mayhem.

I'll speak to the troops.

Those quill stem things work fine. I have something similar on a couple of my bikes.

What happens to star nut etc? Only ever had quill stems!

Good question, I sort of just put weight on the stem until it's all nice and tight, then nip the stem up. I then tighten the stem properly and give everything a test with the front brake on. No clunk or movement and we are good to go.

Not sure what everyone else does.
