This is my Adroit, for which I have been collecting parts from here and elsewhere for the last year. The serial says its a 96 build so I guess it was sold in 97- probably Colorado. Its not quite as I want it but it is getting close, I guess it might not be to everyone's taste though. I have listed the components below and whilst not absolutely period perfect I think it is quite close, however I don't pretend to be an Guru - just an enthusiast. Needless to say, its shown wearing its best dress shoes which I won't be using for riding as they are just too nice. The killer is, I can't ride it at the moment due to injury so its become a lounge lizard for now. It has been an interesting build and sorting problems out like restoring the shortened handlebars and servicing the RS Judys has been a challenge. I left the gaiters off the forks as I think they are quite ugly and I am not sure if they help or hinder. Really wanted some rigid forks but I am told that would not be correct and anyway none have appeared recently.

Whats in the tin:
Frame: Klein Adroit 1996 Small (I am ok with it at 5' 8")

Brake Cables: XTR 950 NOS
Brake/shifter: XTR 950 8-speed 9.5
Front Derailleur: XTR M950 NOS
Rear Derailleur: XTR M950 9.0
Derailleur Cables: XTR NOS
Cassette M950 11/32 Ti NOS
Chain: XTR NOS
Cranks: M950 9

Hub Skewers XTR 950 NOS
Rims Mavic SUP x517 Citron 8.5
Front Hubs XTR NOS
Rear Hub XTR ti spindle NOS
Nipples DT Swiss NOS
Spokes DT Swiss comp pro NOS
Tyres Panaracer Dart NOS Unridden
Inner tubes Panaracer NEW
Saddle: Selle Tinker Juarez NOS Unridden
Seatpost: Thompson Elite 9.99
Seatpost Hope NEW

Everything NOS or otherwise stripped cleaned and re-greased using aircraft grade lubricants, every bearing surface polished where accessible. The down tube inner surface is polished as well. The handlebars were too short so I CNC’d aircraft grade billet to form hollow but solid end extensions which were Interference fitted and secured with aircraft grade adhesive. Judy fork already has NOS type 2 springs, elastomers and cartridge.
My son thinks I look daft on it - too old maybe or he's after the bike
