I don't find much difference in use across the various manufacturers, but like the split link to remove a chain to clean it properly every now and again........
I always err towards KMC, their split link design is the best imo (you can buy them seperately though and add them to other chains), SRAM are also good I find.
I haven't bought an original Shimano chain for some time now....
