Advice on attire please - leggings/tights/bikesters etc?

Get yourself along to some 'proper' bike shops. Have a nosy and try them on.

If you see Lidl/Aldi deals pop along to them for winter trousers, mine from Aldi (bib and trouser are still going after 2, possibly 3 years, and have built in padding.) Not for this warmer weather though.
you just buy them, try them on at home and can take them back if not wanted.

As for warm weather, just try over trousers and wear you padded inners. Saves on the washing and often comfier as they don't move around as much.

Not sure what the ronhill are like, but if they are still like old, basically a baggy tight with foot hoops, they sound like what you need. Even better if they do it in a cycling cut.

My under shorts are endura click ones in xxl! Good plan. Will have a look

Alternatively wOuld these do the job then? Seem good brand and on offer. Being xxl would be roomy and maybe cooler. Mentions mesh panels?

they are running tights, they'll go at the crotch in no time at all. You could look at some touring trousers?

Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and do the thing men hate. Try stuff on

Or might just risk something on eBay

these are what I was suggesting.... as said the shorts are light so expect the trousers to not be too bad.

plus they are baggy so the meat wont stand out too much !!!

Thanks for the compliment. Looking at the reviews appears too warm as no vents and more of a winter trouser methinks.
