Same sex GPs

It would seam a no brainer but I still cannot bring myself to go, it's just a risk I'll have to take.

not uncommon, have had several friends with that attitude. Unfortunately, by the time you find out that they have a problem with the GP, it's often too late to fix the problem they've been putting off setting the GP about.
If I was you I'd go and have a chat with them anyway, i understand that there are other tests they can do now.
 
Should you have a horrible time before you die of cervical cancer or related illnesses at least you will have taught your kids a valuable lesson, i.e. to do he sensible thing. Of course watching you die a painful death and having that with them for the rest of their lives will be fine as long as you didn't have to get a smear eh?
