Hmm ... the LTS has 4" to 5" of travel at the rear. That ST3 has 4.25". Hardly an upgrade, especially considering that the GT's multilink suspension is much more advanced than the single pivot affair of the ST3.

Well, here's what i want exactly
Lots of travel 5 or 6+
Ability to DH/and hit large jumps and drops
Comfortable to ride over flat distance 2-5 miles
Medium or Small Frame? I'm 5'7 145
so far all the bikes i have seen in the classifieds are either all-mountain with limited travel or DH rigs that seem impossible to ride up trails the actual bikes that seem perfect are the newer 2010+ and they're typicallty 1500-3500
I've got a budget of about 5-600, i love my GT LTS but it's pretty old and out of date ( V- brakes, 100 mm of travel in fork, rock shox deluxe rear) and to get what i want out of a bike with it would cost as much as a newer bike
I'm open to all suggestions
