Currently considering fork options for my Rock Lobster.

Some possibilities at the moment:

Rigid - Cannondale Pepperonis any good?

Manitou Mach 5 - don't know anything about them. Anyone know owt?

Swap the crown on my RC35's so I can fit a 1 1/8" steerer.

Decisions decisions!

peps are a nice fork, super chunky and light....visualy they dont suit every frame though, as they are quite curvy......you got a pic of the bike?....

nice!.....i'd go with a sus fork on that, it looks quite modern and would suit it better......rc35 would do, rc36 even better if you dont mind the search/added expense.....

Mach5 SXs in working condition are not a bad fork. Sadly they were and are not renowned for the damper's durability, but if you get one which is working now they're likely ok. IMO they're a much stiffer chassis than an equivalent Judy. The Elastomers were not terribly durable either and may need replacing. The slightly later ones (say '97+) are certainly better than the earlier ones.

I must be the only person on here who doesn't like Pace forks but each to their own, they seem to be a peculiar British affliction.

I had some Mach 5's for a while and they were ok. Nothing special but ok. Didn't really like the look of 'em though.

I've got mach 5 sxs - work reasonably for the age.

Not sure if the damper really works on mine - how to double check......
