'97 Kona U'hu Karma/Budget build FINISHED new pics 08/08/13

Re: '97 Kona U'hu Karma/Budget build Updated with pics 13/12

Ok
Here's a couple of pics of the newly painted frame front end. It's not perfect, a bit light in a couple of areas but as it ended up being free i'm not about to complain :D

I've had the Z2 fork lowers done the same and started building them up this afternoon with new seals & some extra firm springs plus new stainless bolts.
Pics to come.

Had a really good afternoon in the garden :)

Got the forks finished, rear end bolted on headset in & forks & stem on.

It's not got any rear shock bushes at the moment, it's just on there to hold it all together.
Really pleased, especially the forks as they are the 1st one's i've fully stripped down & rebuilt.
Anyway here's some more pics.

Is that a Faux-Bar URT? never seen that before :p

Not sure what you mean by "Faux-Bar" but yes it is a URT.
I think this was the 1st year Kona used this type of sus system.

Yep it pivots at both the top and bottom of the seatstays.

Got more done today :)
Stickers on :D
Hubs stripped, cleaned & re-greased.Tyres on. Bars .grips & controls fitted.

You may notice that it's got Suntour XC Pro thumbies & not Rapidfire shifters.Thats only because i don't get on with trigger shifters & have used thumbies on all my bikes.

The seatpost is also too long so i'm on the lookout for a 350mm one as i don't want to cut the Roox cos its in very good nick.

Now it just needs a chain, V brake arms & cables plus some blue anno cage bolts & some stickers for the forks.
