XTR M950 BB question..

Just to try and add some clarity, it sounds like you have an m950bb already. These are rebuildable, but if you have done so few miles on yours, perhaps a regrease is all that is needed?

You can also get an m952bb, but thus is sealed, so once gone, it's gone.

Other options are: 105, 600 (ultegra) or dura ace, though the road bbs weren't available in the correct size for xtr, they are close enough.

I found the M950 BB to be prone to needing frequent stripping and regreasing - but is otherwise pretty much indestructible.

It's not fit and forget like most BBs. But it is buy and keep.....

Hi

With all these replys so fast I´m impressed by this site :D

I will start to get the BB removed and se if it´s a real XTR 950 BB then the bearings will be testet and relubed/changed (maybe se if I can make a better bearing solution to it).

The thing that worries me with the road BB are the chainline when using E-Type front mech and the seals.

Cheers

The BB is out now and it is a BB-M950 and is in a degreasing bath right now but in my eager I forgot to see which side the two different bearing cups belong..

Any who can remember that ?

These may or may not help you rebuild it.
The Dura-Ace do not seem to be setup to run in 73mm or in e-type setting. Just standard 68mm shell. So probably no luck there (I do not know)

Hi All

Couple of questions regarding the M950 bottom bracket
Anyone know where I can buy on line 2.5mm and 1mm spacers?
I think I need a 1mm spacer RHS as I will be using a e-type mech
Second question is what is the function of the threaded ring No.5 in the first pic and No. 6 in the second pic in this thread and how should it be adjusted?
