2013-05-05 - Lomonds Aftermath

Re: East Coast Rides Thread

So gaz mac says the carpark at the holl at ten ish , I was there early , they weren't ,they parked in the fishermens carpark , they moan like hell about folk in "their" carpark , but they weren't there ,can't be fishing season yet , or they've caught all the fish
Bloody windy so I suggest a potentially easier climb up the bishop ,debatable if it was better tho ,but it was Summat different for the lads

Top of the first big climb ,not very long but steep

Rob sat furthest away ,then proceeded to tell us something that had popped into his head ,a paragraph lost to the wind ,not a clue what he said
Eventually we crested the bishop hill so sat and had lunch ,haribo red bull and chocolate , rob had a banana

Note how gaz macs knee matches the west lomond ,he was born in these hill you know

Robs new love the black pig as he calls it ,Q jokes about seaman Staines ,master bates and all that

Rob was in awe of the black pigs 240mm travel forks , allowing him to " skip like a little spring lamb down the arduous terrain "

Here he demonstrates

And again ,spring lamb like ,gaz macs on the trail tho ,rob skips around him

And off into the distance at some pace I may add ,spring lamb like ,he was at the bottom first ,another mew experience for the auld yin

James mason lined up next , that's rob speeding off lamb like

Then gaz mac
The climb out of glen vale is a PITA as we got up onto the flat the black pig sprung (lamb) a leak
Pugwash had been moaning about shonky gears most of the day ,but it was getting worse ,so a debate ensued between Eric and earnie ( gaz and shed) as to which way to turn the adjusters to set the gears
I got bored and headed off ZZ in tow
When we got to the big muddy bit at the gate Eric and earnie were still at it ,next thing some shouting and then a load of laughing , shed was now lying in the bog , apparently gaz kicked a lump of mud at shed ,who retaliated slipped tha ended up on his arse , in the mire
We got to harperlees and the pig was breathed up and the tools came out

The chain was pulling apart causing the skippy (spring lamb like ) shifting ,so it was split links removed
And re-fitted in a jiffy ( well I say a jiffy ,but you could have serviced your car and cooked lunch in the time it took, but it was a fine day to be out)

Gaz looks deep in thought " will I kick that big twat up the Erse , better no might catch robs ears "
Not too sure what shed was doing ,looks like he's gonna be sick

And to end a good day out a gratuitous pic of ZZ 's bike

It's not out of focus ,it just looks like that

Mike
