Ernie Clements Falcoln frame anybody have any info??????

Ive inherited this frame does anybody have any info on age design or Ernie Clements?

any help is much aprieciated

Imichrome stickers are not original, looks a bit like a 60's San Remo in classic blue but hand painted over in green.

Google usually throws up a few images of old San Remo's for comparison. Falcon Stuck Ernie's name on everything in the later days

Do you have any idea where a serial number will be stamped on the frame?

I have come across a few San-Remo's and other Falcon's in my time. The San-Remo trademark was the wrap-over seat stay, my mid 70's San Remo has seat stays just like yours but with long point prugnat lugs. Falcon's of that era always had quite a bit of chrome which may be covered by green paint.

They seemed to put the frame number wherever they liked, bottom bracket, seat tube behind the seat, seat tube up from the bottom bracket, rear dropout and even stamped into one on the chain stays underneath. Should also be a number on the steerer.

Falcon's always rode well Typical Falcon lack of anything brazed on as well. Very nice frame, should re-finish well as they paid attention to the lugwork as it was often chromed.

Thanks very much for the info, looking at the pistures of it originally i cant understand why anyone would want to paint over those colours

Falcon blue was a bit marmite, like Bianchi Blue (celeste) which I think personally looks odd. Soeone obviously thought it would look better green LOL

I had my brand new Falcon San Remo in pink and not blue..

I rather like that, but it's a little too short in the top tube, more's the pity.
