Simplest replacement for rear shock on '99 FSR

Thanks Twain!
I've just been looking through your '99 Elite FSR build thread... very nice! That's not the one you're rebuilding is it?

it is, yes, having to reshuffle my bike bits! going to put a full XT M739/740 groupset (minus the Vbrakes) on it and putting the current parts on to my more modern Marin.
i may change back at some point but i'd quite like to get the FSR more in tune with the period it was built (albeit a year or so older) - with the exception of the shock, keeping my Fox on there!

i like the Blue and red colour combo on yours :) and i agree that a small chain ring up front would tighten the look nicely :p

Anyone know anything about these? Fastrax rear shock, Taiwanese, OEM for Kona. Pic shows at as 165/38 but auction blurb says it's 190/50. Looks like 165/38mm to me. Gotta be better than the knackered RS Coupe Deluxe I have now.

I was thinking of upgrading my rear shock and front but before I did I wanted to get an idea of what fits and what works the best.

Was thinking of using this shock- X fusion 02 RLZ and a Linkage.

What are the links available? im thinking putting 150mm on the front so 130-140mm would be good?

thanks

If that is a 350lb spring then it might be a bit weak!

IIRC i have a 700lb one on mine, and my older Xfusion Glyde was a 600 or 650
