The welds are quite large compared o my old Merlin Mountain and Marin Team Titanium.

I would ask him why he thinks it's ti given he admits to having no knowledge of it's past or paperwork..he has to be fair though mentioned the crack it has now on the add on bits

Got to say that's the ugliest titanium frame I've ever seen. The welds and dropouts look like they have more in common with bike shaped objects.

Taking a second look I'm beginning to think Alu too - that chunky canti bridge and fishscale welds around the headtube make more sense if its Alu

a polished then lacquered finish i guess. the more i look the more i don't think it's ti. replaceable gear hanger, chunky welds, tube size and profiles and the dent looks wrong for a dent in TI
