Haven't done one of these Threads in a while [and since I have just purchased a Personal Unicorn] thought I'd kick this one off

I greatly enjoyed gm1230126's 30 Days Of GT, and it was with this Series in my mind that I hit the Buy It Now button on this 1991 GT Team Avalanche Frameset in Midnight Aurora; complete with original GT Flip Flop stem. Yes, there was a Best Offer option, but when you're staring at a Unicorn, there is no truer an aphorism than "He Who Hesitates is Lost"

This is my second GT but my first rigid one [the first being a '97 Psyclone] and I am frothing to get the Build started

Re: 1991 GT Team Avalanche

Great looking T. Avalanche ! Have had the 1990 T. Avalanche myself, but the 1991 one is at least as nice.

Re: 1991 GT Team Avalanche

Very nice! Lovely condition and lovely set!

Must-haves:
- get those screws for the 2x4 fork for rake adjustment. ;)
- get that GT Saddle with the metal knobs
- get those GT AME grips; Kevin should still have some

Kevin also uploaded the 91 catalogue:

Re: 1991 GT Team Avalanche

Very nice find man, I have one of these in 18", I'm missing the stem, saddle and grips though :(

Re: 1991 GT Team Avalanche

Lovely bike - yours is in really good nick. I have one in 18" too - not quite as mint as yours though.

The Tioga seatposts come up every now and then from reasonable money too.

Really nice, the forks dropouts are pure porn! I'm a big fan of yours kingroon. I'm watching you with beady eyes kingroon.

Re: 1991 GT Team Avalanche

I have one of those gt insta flate pumps as seen on the frame in the catalogue.
Never been used!

The pressure!

I'll try and get this to a Catalogue Build, but for the moment the wheelset will be a bit different.. Pro Disko on a Team Avalanche? We'll see how it looks..

Otherwise, '91 XT throughout

I was building a '91 John Fomac [sic] like danielmochuelo, but the recent addition to the Forum of the Real Deal has winded me a bit so most of the kit for that will sit on this Avalanche

Re: 1991 GT Team Avalanche

Subscribed, look forward to the build Matt, sure you will do it justice :)
