Prototype is always a good thing when it comes to bike parts. Anyway, the groupset should fetch quite a few dollars on Ebay. The frame on the other hand is in really bad shape. This is the first time I have seen that much chrome damage on an unused frame.

Maybe there is a lot of salt in the local atmosphere too that would explain the amount of corrosion?

My guess is that it is a Montello that has had some custom decals applied.

The one down from the Montello is the MOD. SUPER RECORD; I think the STAR bit has been appended by some USA agent or shop ...

Much like a Montello but with SL tubing rather than SLX.

If it is a Montello there will be no bridge between the chain stays and it will be SLX tubes which you can check for the splines.
