GT STS - And so it begins...

Popped out to the garage this morning and I thought I'd sneak a couple of pics. You can't see the saddle (white Charge Spoon) because its hooked around the rafter!

Its taking shape though. I can't do much more without the forks and headset so I'm hoping they'll arrive in the next couple of days :)

Shifters, Headset and QR Skewers are here :D

The skewers are just cheapy red anodised ones for now - I've got my eye on a much nicer set when funds allow it ;)

I'm just waiting on the forks now...

Looking good - what posh skewers are you looking at?

Just a set of Aerozine ones on eBay - Anodised red with a nice slim lever and ti axles. I've had Aerozine stuff before and it's always been really good quality stuff :)

Cool.

I bet you cant wait for the rest of the bits to turn up...especially with the nice weather that we have at the moment.

All the stuff is here now, except for the forks - and they'll hopefully be on their way to me today so that I can get it built up tomorrow :D

I'm off over to the grandparents' farm tonight to press the headset in. I'd rather not do it with a block of wood and a mallett!

Best thing I did was to buy a headset press - I remember the days of banging my King in with some wood and a hammer. Not my finest moment!

The press that I got was pretty cheap from Wiggle.

I'm hoping that I can cobble one together tonight... I'll see if I can knock one up with some threaded bar, a couple of blocks of wood and a few bolts ;)

Having lived on the farm for the past 40+ years, there's an Aladdin's cave of a workshop which should have all the bits I need :D
