Dust storm in Scotland ?

It was really bad here a few days ago - driving home (there was no way on earth I'd risk cycling in it!) you couldn't see more than about a metre in front of you, the air was almost solid with sand being driven across the fields... it was slightly surreal.

On a bike I think you'd have half the skin missing from your face on the windward side, I wasn't sure there'd be any paint left on the car by the time I got home!

Yeah it was pretty bad here, made the mistake of leaving my window open when I went to work  I'm still cleaning up the dust now!
It was like a proper desert sandstorm, eyes full of gooey gritty gunk, and driving along the A96 to Elgin there was a sodding great sandbank across the road!

When I was a kid our dunes used to creep overnight, sometimes it was easier to drive across the beach than along the road. My dad bought a Land Rover and ended up pulling loads of people out of the sand.
