I am looking to buy a bottom bracket
Thing is, I'm familiar with Phil and Royce and UN90.

A member has offered me a Raceface Taperlock BB.
Question is, how does this compare to the above?

Also how does the Shimano UN72 compare to the UN90?

I am looking for bomb proof high quality and fit forget use.

Cheers guys

UN72 is mechanically as good as UN90. UN90 is just a lot nicer looking and probably a little lighter.

May well be inside the frame but I like to have confidence that what's I sure is as good as the bling outside :)

Any one know how the raceface compares to the Phil or UN90 UN72?

RaceFace are nice, it's down to whatever bearing you fit in it though as you just bung another bearing cartridge on when one wears out.
The cups tend to have the Anodising knacked when you fit/remove them though.
Look in the archive for its instructions, at least I think I put them up.

Ill pass on the raceface if owning them ever entails bunging on other bearings.

I think either Phil or Royce as I don't want to be ever changing the BB :)

Can't remember where the other thread is Ibbz. But to you that UN91 price is inc. postage. Do you still want the Quarz rear mech btw? Don't think I'll ever have time to swap the parts over so you can have both for the same price as the good one.

re. Phil-the tool is a bit daft.
re. Royce - the tool is a bit daft.

Man, I didn't hear from you and ended up buying the UN91 nos on eBay.
Sorry mate
And I also ended up buying a Royce too
Don't ask me why, though if one works the other will be on sale

Thanks again

All I need now is the Royce Tool - anyone?
