Rock Lobster...what are they all about!

If the later ones are Kinesis I guess they are very similar to the 2004 Jamis Dragon I have which is also made by them or in the same factory as far as I know.

Cool, I can respray my Dragon as a Rock Dragon.

Great, I'll be humming Rock Lobster all day now! Just took some pics of my trusty copy of MBR...

I do know he's a nice man! When I put an "unknown" track bike on Fixedgeargallery some years ago he mailed me re possible IDs - and seemed genuinely and pleasantly surprised when I knew who he was!

I very nearly bought a steel Rock Lobster frame in '93/94 but went with an Orange instead.
I do remember that Merlin Cycles sold the frames.

Aha! Thanks for that! So that model is a 1998? or 97?
The magazine is "January 1998" so 98 models, although small-volume makes are less restricted by launching stuff once-a-year on a fixed schedule.

Merlin Cycles have been stocking the frames for years. I remember one of their truely lightweight XC frames was rated as fit for 1 to 2 seasons only before potential failure, that must've been really paired down on the tubing thickness.
