If you were to buy a modern bike what would you choose?

Good question! I'm XC/trail so...

BUDGET: any £300 Trek

MIDRANGE: an SLX equipped secondhand Pugsley.

LOTTERY: ti 23" Robin Mather to a Kona geometry. XTR discs, Marzocchi coil and oil forks, 1X10 SLX drivetrain, Ultegra thumbshifter, ti fork for winter.

I did and I bought my 1997 Kona, rides pretty well.

If you had to push me into this sites categories... Then a 1998 DeKerf

A yeti arc and a rocky mountain element or etsx (last model with rear aluminium), I love RM geometry :)

But they don't make ARCs anymore...
I was thinking about this when GT refused to sell me a 26in new Xizang. Looked at Seven and IF, but i think a Dean Colonel X-lite 26er would fit the bill.

That "Rohloff powered FAT bike" would do for me, actually. But I wouldn't be able to use it as it so obviously deserves!

I think if someone pointed a gun to my head and said you must decide NOW I would probably go for a Ti Implant. If I had a chance to think about it I may choose otherwise but I certainly wouldn't be having one of the modern hydroformed bouncy bikes that all look the same.

Well... If anyone knows Father Christmas's REAL address...

Could you get him to sort me out one of these.....?!

I've been a REALLY good boy of course ;)
